Philodendron verrucosum has velvety leaves and is a beautiful Philodendron. It is a hemiepiphyte that begins its existence as a seed growing in the canopy of trees and later roots down into the soil. A hemiepiphyte is a plant that grows as an epiphyte during at least part of its life cycle. Plants that grow on to other trees are known as epiphytes. Philodendron verrucosum comes in a variety of forms, but there are at least two distinct types. Philodendron verrucosum with a red backside to the leaf blade and a variation with a green backside. The verrucosum species, on the other hand, has a wide range of varieties.
